Electron tomography
This technique allows 3D reconstruction of large molecules, organelles and small cells. The 3D results are obtained from multiple 2D images of a tilting sample. Details can be visualized with nanometer precision. The dual axis tomography holder of the NeCEN microscope allows the sample to rotate 90 degrees in plane while being present in the column. This provides a reduction of the missing wedge information to a missing cone.
