Genome surveillance
The group of Roland Kanaar (Erasmus MC) investigates genome surveillance processes because they are essential to prevent chromosomal abnormalities. Understanding the molecular structures and conformational changes of involved proteins and complexes is of utmost importance. EM analyses that will be possible through the Titan EM setup are absolutely pivotal to address these issues. Importantly, it will be possible to address mechanistic questions at a level of resolution not previously possible.
