NeCEN hosts Instruct workshop
Professor Bram Koster will host the ‘Instruct Industry Workshop’ in Leiden next April. Instruct is a network organization for structural biology in Europe. They organize the research infrastructure of this field by defining leading laboratories for each expertise. Although NeCEN has not been able to build past performance, the centre leads by making the most advanced equipment available for everyone.
Koster plans to organize the workshop together with Albert Heck, the official contact person for Instruct in The Netherlands. During the workshop, attendants will learn how to use Instruct to get access to equipment. The program specifically targets the needs of industrial users and manufacturers of equipment. Several technologies will be addressed, as well as an overview of the leading centres and guidelines for getting access.
The request to host a workshop in Leiden shows that NeCEN is well on its way to become part of this european network. Other cryo-EM laboratories connected to Instruct are in Germany, France and United Kingdom.
